I spent one week in October 2013 at Villa Eva with YogaTeamBerlin – and it was just amazing. The place is breathtakingly beautiful. You find yourself right above the ocean and can sit there for ages, looking over the sea, watching ferries and cruise ships pass by in the distance or see the sun dipping into the water at sunset. Or you can walk to a very secluded beach (psst, we even skinny dipped) – or down the other side to a nearby tavern, where you can enjoy decent Greek food or just a good Coffee. The rooms of Villa Eva are beautiful too, very cozy, equipped with refrigerator and stove for your convenience.
We had our yoga classes in the lovely studio and each time I twisted to the side the beauty of the place just hit me: you could look over the sea while doing your exercises and hear the wind rustling in the trees. We once went out and sat on the cliffs for meditation and everyone was just stunned by the beauty of the place. Stelios, the owner, was incredibly kind. He even took us for a hike up in the mountains and showed us the nightingale valley and some nearby artists villages. All of the other staff were great, too – their friendliness and warm welcome made us feel at home immediately.
And then there was the food! We had breakfast and dinners there, delicous tsatsiki, soups, fried zucchini, yammy desserts…
If you are not there with a group, though, I would recommend renting a car, since the place is very secluded and there are no supermarkets in a walking distance. But there are buses not too far away, that can take you to the nearby beaches and cafes from Kokkari. Summing up: I highly recommend this place and will for sure come back. As will YogaTeamBerlin.
